I’m making a roof rack out of a damaged SUV bully bar and some lights a friend gave me. I’m pretty happy with it so far.
The mounting plan is to use four 10mm bolts through the bars and through the roof of my e36. I think this should be sufficient, but I’m wondering if any rally/overland/off-road oppos have any advice.
Also, what’s the best way to wire this? Parallel with a fuse for each light? Large switch in the dashboard?

No idea. I made a boat carryin roof rack for my ‘hoe out of some lead pipes, some plastic pipe caps, some u bolts, some plywood, and some bed liner. What im trying to say is that innovation is key.

U bolts... You mean like exhaust hangers?
So what you’re saying is four 10mm bolts should be plenty
